After approaching another local company and having them not come back to me after an initial meeting, the reason for which I still have no idea, I looked up other companies in the Bellshill area. Where do I start with this review?I'd contacted a few companies who had basically said my hallway was a pain as it had stairs/ ceramics/ walls didn't run straight/ stairs had gaps.Alastair came out to measure and was very accommodating. He had such a can do attitude and provided me with a lot of advice when buying floor.I was provided with a very competitive qoute and no sales hassle. I accepted it 2 weeks later.Communication pre fitting was perfect. Confirming every detail with me.The man who came to fit laminate was not only a fantastic floor fitter but a gentleman to have inside my house and I felt very comfortable leaving him my key.He went extra mile ,using silicon to cover gaps around areas that I think many companies would have left.This job has been completed to the highest standard with the best service I've ever had.I am absolutely delighted and would advice anyone going elsewhere for flooring to use Avoca instead. 5*

Petya was very helpful when we called into the shop. She showed us the variety of flooring available and made an appointment for us to have the conservatory measured and a quote to be provided. Martin arrive on arranged day and advised us on the appropriate flooring for the area. We received the quote promptly and arranged to go back into the shop to pick our floors. Once we decided on the flooring a date and time was arranged for the work to be completed. Kalin arrived promptly on the days he was due. He explained the process of screeding prior to the flooring going down. He was very professional and completed the work to a high standard. Avoca Flooring was recommended to us when choosing flooring for our kitchen/dining space and we were not disappointed. Everyone we dealt with - manager, shop staff & fitters - were all professional yet very friendly, polite and helpful. We had a small issue (a slight manufacturing flaw in 1 floorboard) after the job was complete but on reporting this it was resolved & replaced within the hour - excellent customer service! We would definitely recommend Avoca Flooring and will certainly use again.

I had floors sanded and floors laid by Avoca. They were really friendly and the work was carried out to a high standard. The guys even stayed on late one evening to make sure they finished the work within the time scale. There was also good communication throughout. We would strongly recommend Avoca Floors. We used them for sanding of our tired wooden floors and they look completely refreshed. Alistair, the owner, came to the house more than once to assess the job before finalising the quote and made us feel comfortable to the extent that we chose Avoca over two personal recommendations. The sanders worked tidily and efficiently clearing up after themselves each day. They discussed our questions in a relaxed way and we are very satisfied. We also bought a bedroom carpet with equal satisfaction. The star of the show is Petya who works in the shop and office. She communicates by return, spontaneously keeps you upto date on working and delivery days (the carpet supplier was temporarily out of stock of our choice) and is always cheerful.

Alaistair and his team has helped us to restore our floorboard twice, this particular service (sanded and lacquered) and team has been fantastic- they're not only competent in their job but mindful of their work to cause minimum hassles for us. I wouldn't need to worry about they damage the property or left any mess for me to clean up afterward. It was particular important for us with a super energetic toddler exploring the least visited spot in the property. I would be happy to recommend their restoration service for any friends of mine.

We recently had our hardwood floors restored and could not be happier with the result. Craig, Joe and the team did a fantastic job removing all of the (very deep) scores, and varnishing the floors to the exact colour match requested. We were prepared for the worst with the dust, but were pleasantly surprised by how neat and relatively dust-free the house was afterwards. Would highly recommend!

We recently had vinyl flooring fitted in one of the bedrooms, I was uncertain about vinyl as I have never used it in my home before but Alistair and Petya answered any questions we had on our visit to the showroom. The children were made very welcome and were occupied by a gaming console which was fantastic and gave us time to look at the plentiful supply of flooring available. Communication was great throughout. The fitters who laid the flooring were lovely and very professional they left the room tidy and even swept up after themselves which was a great help to me as I’m and heavily pregnant. FAQ’s

How much is my flooring going to cost?

Carpets can vary from £15 to £100 per sq. m
For example, the cost of flooring for a room of roughly 4m x 5m would be as follows:
Based on one of our best selling carpets: Supply, fit, 10 mm underlay – cost around £725

What are the main things to bear in mind?

The carpets come in certain widths – usually 4m and 5m, we adjust the length of the carpet so if your room measurements are 3.05m by 2.85m. we would order a cut of carpet at 4m by 3m to ensure coverage.

What other costs are associated when buying a new carpet?

We charge £25 plus VAT to trim doors and adapt them to the new flooring should the new flooring be thicker than the original.

How do I pay for my new carpet?

Initially a 50% deposit is required to secure the order and all accessories. The outstanding balance would is due on the day of completion.  We accept bank transfers (preferably), cash  in the showroom and card payments both in the showroom and over the phone. 

Does the room need to be empty in order lay new a new carpet?

Yes, ideally the room would be free of furniture as this can speed up the process and will help to avoid unwanted damage to the decor or the furniture. If you would struggle to empty the room, please let us know in advance and we can make additional arrangements to assist, additional charges may apply. 

Should I decorate before or after my new flooring is fitted?

We would advise to decorate prior to having a new floor fitted but be prepared for minor touch ups which are necessary on a rare occasion. At Avoca Flooring we are a very professional and highly regarded company with a strong track record for fitting with no requirements for touch ups however the nature of the work may require it. 

Is there a warranty on the floor?

Warranty varies by the manufacturer of the particular product chosen. This can be discussed with the team at Avoca Flooring by calling or visiting the showroom.

Where does the company name come from?

I wanted to have a unique name to stand out from the crowd. I initially tried to work out a name with the initials of my family but could not find anything catchy. I used to live in Bondi in Australia and there was an Avoca Street near where I used to live so I just went for that.
